On a beautiful spring afternoon, at the end of a beautiful summer day, with family or friends, we invite you to an animation followed by a walk on the Loire, a guided visit to the Loire Museum sometimes followed by a tasting.

This year, eight events are scheduled between May and August:

The Loire Museum offers you a dive into the history of the Loire Navy, to discover the remains left in the city by the activities related to the river: quays, port, sailors' houses, flood marks, chapel
The Loire Museum offers you a dive into the history of the Loire Navy, to discover the remains left in the city by the activities related to the river: quays, port, sailors' houses, flood marks, chapel …
At the museum you will then get acquainted with the life of the sailors (furniture, portrait, tools, devotions for patron saints like Saint Nicholas …). You will also understand, from models of boats or earthenware of Nevers, the difficulties of navigation that led these lords of the river to develop mutual aid, solidarity and religious beliefs.
Finally, find the Service Éducation à l'Environnement Cœur de Loire which, from Saint-Satur, will take you on the river in a large Rabaska canoe to a beach to talk to you about the fauna and flora of the Loire before the snack.

You may already know the visible side of the Loire Museum: paintings, sculptures, engravings, ceramics, tools, models… meticulously highlighted in the rooms on the walls, in showcases or on pedestals… Haven't you ever wondered what was going on behind the scenes?
The Loire Museum offers you an exceptional opportunity to dive for a few moments into this hidden universe of the general public! Come and discover our reserves and the scientific and technical missions that are the responsibility of any holder of public heritage collections in a museum of France!
You will then become familiar for example with the journey of an art object from its acquisition to its exhibition, you will meet the actors who work behind the scenes, you will have the opportunity to leaf through our inventory, to introduce you to the condition report, handling, storage or marking …, you will place yourself in a way, the time of an unprecedented visit, in the shoes of a curator!

Water in his wine!
As part of La Culture s'invite au marché, in partnership with the City of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire, the Loire Vignobles et Nohain Tourist Office and the winegrowers of the Coteaux du giennois
Despite its name, the Loire Museum preserves very heterogeneous collections. In particular, he holds several works or objects related to the vine and wine trades that have earned him the Label Vignobles et Découvertes. It also makes it possible to understand the capital importance of the river until the19th century for the Loire wine trade.
This exclusive visit will offer visitors the opportunity to discover some of these treasures extracted for the occasion from the reserves: statuette of Saint Vincent, tools of the vine or coopers…
It will be followed by an animation to test your senses and a tasting of wines from the Coteaux du giennois offered by the Tourist Office and the winegrowers of the Coteaux du giennois installed not far from there on the Sunday market. In addition to the visit to the museum, you will be able to get to know the wines of the appellation, their terroirs, their grape varieties and all their diversity of expression.
