As every year, the Loire Museum, former Convent of the Augustinians (Historical Monument), participates in the European Heritage Days and opens its doors free of charge.

This year the techniques of earthenware are in the spotlight, the Loire Museum invites you to discover or rediscover its temporary exhibition : Reflections of earthenware, the Loire for decoration

If the exhibition gives pride of place to earthenware with Decorations of the Loire, it also highlights the history and techniques of ceramics. It thus details in particular all the stages of realization from the shaping of the earth to the second firing which reveals the colors through the enamelling or the installation of the decoration. While we are talking here about an ancient know-how, it is also an art that is still very much alive since several workshops still perpetuate the tradition today.

Thus, during these two days from 2 pm to 6 pm, the museum will welcome Sylvie Testou, faience maker (Workshop "As on the first day" installed in Pougues-les-Eaux), for demonstrations. The opportunity to highlight all the stages of earthenware making that usually take place in the secret of the workshop and for visitors to touch this centuries-old traditional know-how.
