The Loire Museum participates in many cultural, local, national or European events. They are an opportunity for visitors to discover the collections from a new angle and attract a wide audience every year. For a morning, an evening, a day or a weekend, enjoy the Loire Museum most often for free!

Mid-May : The European Night of Museums
The European Night of Museums is organised by the Ministry of Culture.
It is under the patronage of the Council of Europe, the French National Commission for UNESCO and ICOM (International Council of Museums).
The "Night of Museums" takes place every year, on a Saturday in May, at the same time as ICOM's "International Museum Day". For an evening, between 7:30 pm and 11 pm, we invite you to discover for free, in an unusual, festive or playful way, the riches of the Loire Museum. Every year, we design an event for you that combines the talent of artists, professionals or volunteers from diverse backgrounds. We highlight, in an original way, our collections (Fine Arts, Modern Art, Ethnography, Archaeology, Popular Traditions …) by offering animations, aimed at all audiences.
In recent years, the Ministry of National Education has been associated with this event through the device "The class, the work! ».
Students in primary, middle and high school classes are then invited to study throughout the school year a work or an object preserved by the Loire Museum and to design a mediation, which can be presented during the evening.

Pentecost weekend : The Loire in celebration
The Fête de la Loire in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire is jointly organized by the City of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire and the Association des Gabarriers du Haut Val de Loire.
The "Loire Festival" takes place every year on the weekend of Pentecost, in late May or early June.
For a weekend, Saturday from 2 pm to 6 pm, Sunday and Monday from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm, we invite you to discover the Loire Museum for free. We offer entertainment, visits and workshops for children.
Upstream or downstream of your walk on the banks of the Loire and the Place de la Pêcherie, the place of the Festival, let yourself be seduced by the Loire Museum!
In June : Fête de la musique
The Fête de la musique is organized by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire.
The "Fête de la musique" takes place every year, on June 21, the first day of summer.
For an evening from 6pm, we invite you to discover the Loire Museum for free and enjoy an air of music in the remarkable setting of the former Augustinian convent that now houses the museum.

End of June : Country and Mill Heritage Days
The Journées du Patrimoine de Pays et des Moulins are organized by the AFMA, Patrimoine Environnement, Maisons Paysannes de France, the Fondation du Patrimoine, the FFAM, the Architectes du Patrimoine, Rempart and the Petites Cités de Caractères.
The Journées du Patrimoine de Pays et des Moulins take place every year, on the last weekend of June.
For a weekend, we invite you to discover a theme related to this national event during a guided tour or an exclusive animation at the Loire Museum.

Between May and August: Summer activities
The Summer Animations are organized by the Loire Museum in partnership with the Tourist Office and the Pavillon du milieu de Loire Cœur de Loire.
The Summer Animations take place every year between May and August.
During a beautiful afternoon, at the end of a beautiful summer day, a Sunday morning before going to the market, with family or friends, at the time of the aperitif or the snack, we invite you to a guided tour followed by a walk on the Loire or a tasting at the Loire Museum.
Let yourself be tempted by a unique visit to the Loire Museum, in the city or on the Loire and come and taste the wines of the Coteaux du Giennois appellation!
Mid-September : European Heritage Days
The European Heritage Days are organised by the Ministry of Culture.
The "European Heritage Days" take place every year on the 3rd weekend of September.
For a weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm, we invite you to discover for free the Loire Museum installed in the former Convent of the Augustinians and Guard Corps, listed as Historical Monuments. We offer entertainment, visits and workshops for children.

Mid-October: Science Festival
The Science Festival is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
The "Science Festival" takes place every year at the beginning of October.
On a Wednesday afternoon, from 2 pm to 6 pm, come and discover the collections through its scientific and technical aspects. We offer you animations, new visits in a museum.
